Duncan is an entrepreneur and social investor. His interests especially focus on how technology can help change the world for the very poor. He is also a keen long-distance runner. Duncan is a Director of Musoni BV, a microfinance institution operating in Africa that has pioneered the use of mobile payments, Access Afya, working with mobile health clinics in slums, and is pioneering remittance payments through BitPesa. Duncan trained as an economist, has previously run his own publishing business, and has written several books, published by the Financial Times, on banking and finance in emerging markets.
