Ummul Choudhury is co-founder of C4R. She founded social capoeira programmes in Palestine, Syria and Jordan. Ummul has a Masters Degree in Near and Middle Eastern Studies. Shl ase speaks four languages alongside her native English and is a keen sportswoman, playing capoeira as well as kickboxing. Ummul has been recognised for her humanitarian and development work, by the Asian Women of Achievement Awards and Ogunte Women’s awards. She is a guest lecturer on humanitarian and development issues, and regularly speaks and blogs on international aid in areas of conflict and mental health. She is currently writing a book on the failure of localisation and international aid.
