Vinícius Calixto is a Brazilian researcher and lawyer with a focus in the field of sports and human rights. He holds a Master Degree from Federal University of Minas Gerais in international law (Human Rights and Transnational Sports Law) and coordinates the Sports Law Centre in this university. Vinícius is also professor of Sports Law, Lex Sportiva and Human Rights and member of several research groups as Gesporte/UnB and Labama/UnB.
Vinícius has relevant experience in sports regulation both in the public and the private sector, working with the Brazilian Ministry of Sports and private consultants in the sector of sports for development and sports management.
Dedicated to the binomial sports/human rights, Vinícius is constantly researching and writing about this theme in journals and platforms, especially Observatório da Discriminação Racial no Futebol and Direito no Esporte. He firmly believes that sports and its regulation can promote social development, inclusion of minorities and foster processes of peace.
He speaks English and Spanish, besides Portuguese, his native language.
Beyond his professional and academic activities, Vinícius is a very active and sports-oriented person, particularly through the practice of basketball, soccer and capoeira.
