Gilles took part in some of the first activities of Capoeira4Refugees while studying Arabic in Damascus in 2009. Being a Capoeira player himself, he had doubts about the possible match between Capoeira and the Middle East. The story of Capoeira4Refugees over the last years has proved that he was plain wrong.

Today, he is more than ever convinced of the transformational potential of Capoeira to communities in crises worldwide. After five years in the Middle East working on humanitarian and diplomacy affairs, Gilles now works in Switzerland for the Agency for Development and Cooperation.
